BCA against brassica diseases

BIOCOMES objectives:

Development of a seed treatment for oilseed rape and Brassica vegetables based on the combined use of already selected strains of the biological control agents Serratia plymuthica and Paenibacillus polymyxa. The specific objectives are:

  • To obtain more molecular knowledge about the biological control agents Serratia plymuthica and Paenibacillus polymyxa, and to understand their interplay
  • To determine the effective doses
  • To develop protocols for effective fermentation and commercial formulations for seed treatment
  • To evaluate biocontrol effects of both agents on oilseed rape (Brassica napus) and Brassica vegetables under commercial conditions.
